When Mar gets hired at the church she grew up in, she’s reunited with her onetime youth group besties Faith, who is now head of People Operations, and Julie, who now serves as an outspoken (and openly bisexual) volunteer with progressive goals. Though the three once bonded over Relient K songs and scripture, they now have to reconcile their very different faith journeys in the intervening years. Old wounds and new points of view disrupt ministry efforts as queerness and the non-denominational movement collide.

About the playwright
Brynne (she/her) is a Chicago-based playwright excited to be working with Red Theater for the first time. Her plays include Pro-Am (world premiere at First Floor Theater; Jeff Award for New Work; The Kilroy List), Disillusioned (upcoming world premiere at City Lit Theater, Great Plains Theatre Common’s 2026 New Play Festival, O’Neill Semifinalist, Blue Ink Award Semifinalist) and Exorcise (Relentless Award Honorable Mention). She has developed plays with the Goodman, Salt Lake Acting Company, Avalanche, Sideshow (where she was an Artistic Associate), The New Coordinates, Commission, Broken Nose, Black Cat, Adapt, and The Prop.
